My favorite drugstore cruelty free brands and ones I've yet to try.
Things I HAVE Tried in the Drugstore:
E.L.F- A very low cost brand with some great products. E.L.F. can be hit or miss but they are also great if you want to try a crazy purple without any commitment or try strobing but not with a $25 highlighter.
NYX: OH MY GOD. I love NYX. They have a HUGE variety of inexpensive lipsticks, eyeshadows, lipgloss, eyeliner, mascara, primer etc. Their site is an endless cache of makeup. Amazing brand but can also be hit or miss.
Physicians formula: I've had a few products from them and I'm kind of neutral on them. I think I bought the wrong products.
Pacifica: I've had multiple items from this brand . I had one AWFUL, TERRIBLE eyeshadow that would barely even leave a mark when swatched(it was dark purple). But more recently I received a
bronze one in my ipsy that was fantastic , so it all just depends :).
Wet 'N Wild: AWESOME BRAND. Buy this brand please. Yes. Also look up reviews first because this brand is similar to elf in the sense that it's either WONDERFUL or TERRIBLE.
Brands I have not tried:
Milani
Hard Candy
Sonia Kashuk
Flower
Jordana
Prestige
Jane
Pixi
Mineral fusion
Are any of these worth trying? Let me know!

What it's like to find out you've been contributing to animal testing
It was a sunny day during the summer before 6th grade when my attempts to get my mom to take me to buy makeup won her over. We walked into the makeup aisle and she skillfully directed me towards some covergirl and maybelline products. I walked out with a new mascara, lipstick and eyeshadow and lots of excitement. I've been using those brands, along with many other, found along the way for years now.
Until , three weeks ago when I found out that they aren't cruelty free.
After the initial shock came disappointment, I had JUST bought l'oreal's new nude palettes. My two favorite drugstore lipsticks were also produced by non-cruelty free companies. But I breathed a sigh of relief when I realized that none of the companies inside Sephora would do this, right?
Wrong.
Brands like Smashbox, Bobbi Brown and Stila participate in this horrendous activity as well. Most of the makeup I've bought and used over the last few years is produced with animal testing, drugstore or not.
But there is one upside. I found out which brands are cruelty free. I know exactly which brands I should support. I've narrowed my wishlist by more than half and realize how little cruelty free makeup I have. And you know what that means.............
I ACTUALLY HAVE AN EXCUSE TO BUY MAKEUP.
So I decided to post my ~journey~ on this blog.
Enjoy.
